Girls Basketball
Spring 2025
Per CYO league protocol...
- Teams will be placed in divisions according to their previous year's record and at the discretion of the sports committee responsible. For example, teams that were league champions or playoff contenders the previous year will be placed in a higher division.
- Teams with AAU players will need to be placed in a higher division (please indicate AAU experience in registration).
- When a program enters two (2) or more teams in a grade division, the teams must be entered in accordance with their relative strength, and this information shall be stated as accurately as possible. The strongest (#1) team must play in a higher division than the program's other team(s).
- A program's second and third teams shall not consist of players whose abilities are equal to, or stronger than, those of their first team.
If a team reaches capacity, subsequent players will be placed on a wait list. We may field a second team or combine with other waitlisted players from another grade if there are enough players waitlisted.
Due to limited gym availability, early practice times are not guaranteed.
Players register directly through the school/parish program, not through CYO. The school/parish program then registers their teams into the league.
Games are scheduled Friday 5pm-9pm; Saturday 9am-6pm; and Sunday 1pm-7pm; with occasional week night games 5pm-9pm.
POST-SEASON: The top four teams in each division advance to post season play. The format for the single elimination playoff round is 1st place vs. 4th place; 2nd place vs. 3rd place; with the winners advancing to a single elimination championship round. If two teams finish with the same record, head-to-head results determine playoff eligibility and seeding. Trophies are awarded to the 1st place and 2nd place teams immediately following the championship game.
