Spring 2025
GAME TIMES: Games are scheduled Friday 5pm-9pm; Saturday 8am-6pm; and Sunday 1pm-7pm; with occasional week night games 5pm-9pm.
POST-SEASON: The top four teams in each division advance to post season play. The format for the single elimination playoff round is 1st place vs. 4th place; 2nd place vs. 3rd place; with the winners advancing to a single elimination championship round. If two teams finish with the same record, head-to-head results determine playoff eligibility and seeding. Trophies are awarded to the 1st place and 2nd place teams immediately following the championship game.
8TH GRADE ACHIEVEMENT GAME: Each 8th grade team may send one player to participate in an exhibition game at the conclusion of the season. All players receive a commemorative t-shirt.
GAME/BALL/COURT/PLAYERS:
3rd/4th Grade - Players: 6 v. 6; Ball size: Volley-Lite; Court: 60' x 30'; Net Height - 6' 4"; Match Format: Rally scoring. Best of 3 games. Games 1 & 2 to 25 points. Game 3 to 15 points. Tie game must win by 2 points. Serving area: 10' from end line, 20' from center line, and 9' wide.
5th/6th Grade - Players: 6 v. 6; Ball size: Volley-Lite; Court: 60' x 30'; Net Height: 7' 0"; Match Format: Rally scoring. Best of 3 games. Games 1 & 2 to 25 points. Game 3 to 15 points. Tie game must win by 2 points. Serving area: Back line 30' wide.
7th/8th Grade - Players: 6 v. 6; Ball size: Regular; Court: 60' x 30'; Net Height: 7' 4"; Match Format: Rally scoring. Best of 3 games. Games 1 & 2 to 25 points. Game 3 to 15 points. Tie game must win by 2 points. Serving area: Back line 30' wide.
GAME LOCATIONS: Various gyms in San Francisco, Daly City, Pacifica, and Half Moon Bay.
COACHES: All CYO coaches are required to be fingerprinted, take the online VIRTUS course; "Protecting God's Children", and attend a mandatory coaching clinic every school year.
SCHEDULES: All game schedules can be found on the leagues website the Tuesday prior to the start of each season (if not sooner).
