Boys Soccer
The CYO Soccer season for 3rd-8th Grade boys starts in September, date to be determined by CYO. Practices are during the week once (grades 3-5) or twice a week (grades 6-8) after school. More Information will be available in the Fall.
GAME TIMES: Games are primarily played on Saturdays between 8am-5pm and/or Sundays between 1pm-5pm on Recreation Park fields throughout San Francisco.
The fee to participate in an SFB Athletics Field Sport for the 2024-2025 school year is $200, per player.
Registration will close on Wednesday, April 17th.
POST-SEASON: The top four teams in each division advance to post season play. The format for the single elimination playoff round is 1st place vs. 4th place; 2nd place vs. 3rd place; with the winners advancing to a single elimination championship round. If two teams finish with the same record, head-to-head results determine playoff eligibility and seeding. Trophies are awarded to the 1st place and 2nd place teams immediately following the championship game.
8TH GRADE ACHIEVEMENT GAME: Each 8th grade team may send two players to participate in an exhibition game at the conclusion of the season. All players receive a commemorative t-shirt and will be listed in the game program.
3rd, 4th, 5th *6th Grade : Players: 9 v 9 (7 minimum); Ball size: Junior #4 (*6th Grade = Ball size #5); Field size: Small (37.5' x 60'); Goal size: 12' wide 4' high; Game time: 4 ten minute quarters with 5 minute half time (*6th Grade = 4 twelve minute quarters with 5 minute half time).
7th 8th Grade - Players: 11 v. 11 (9 minimum); Ball size: Junior #5; Field size: Big (75' x 120'); Goal size: 24' wide 8' high; Game time: 4 twelve minute quarters with 5 minute half time.
PARTICIPATION RULE : All players must play a minimum of one full quarter per half.
GAME LOCATIONS: Various fields in San Francisco.
COACHES: All CYO coaches are required to be fingerprinted, take the online VIRTUS course; "Protecting God's Children", and attend a mandatory coaching clinic every school year.
